ELEPHANT SOLE

This image was taken at Savuti Bush Camp in Northern Botswana. Elephants as a whole are incredible, but looking deeper there are some fascinating ‘smaller’ bits that make them even more interesting. Their wrinkles, their toes, the hair on their bodies, their eyes, the patterns of their skin, their tusks, everything about them is individual and all the better for a long look.

This image has been hand processed on warm tone fibre based paper, fixed, hypo-cleared, washed, selenium toned and washed again to the requirements of ANSI archival standards, by Dennis da Silva, one of the most respected craftsman in his field in South Africa.
