MALAWI FISHERMAN

This is a view from the beaches of Lake Malawi in the Great Rift Valley, near the town of Cape Maclear, in Malawi. The local people rely almost entirely on fish for their protein requirements and use nets thrown from these beautiful wooden dugout canoes.

This image has been hand processed on warm tone fibre based paper, fixed, hypo-cleared, washed, selenium toned and washed again to the requirements of ANSI archival standards, by Dennis da Silva, one of the most respected craftsman in his field in South Africa.
