LION AND FLY

This is one of a coalition of three male lion’s known as the ‘Wheatfield boys’ who frequent an area close to Mombo Camp deep in the Okavango Delta, Botswana. They are a powerful and extremely handsome trio who have won respect from other lions and man, but not from this tiny fly who almost drove him demented in a very short space of time.

This image has been hand processed on warm tone fibre based paper, fixed, hypo-cleared, washed, selenium toned and washed again to the requirements of ANSI archival standards, by Dennis da Silva, one of the most respected craftsman in his field in South Africa.
